JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM WAHIAWA ANNEX

Saipan Drive, Bldg 55, Wahiawa, HI 96786

This is the closest military facility to the North Shore. It is the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Pacific (NCTAMS PAC).

The Wahiawa annex is one of the WORLDs largest communication station. The headquarters site of this shore command is located just north of the town of Wahiawa. It's about a 10 min drive to Schofield main gate.

U.S. Army 53rd Signal Battalion’s is there and built a 28,244 square-foot Wideband Satellite Communication Operations Center (WSOC) in 2010. 

The WSOC building is the second of the three major communications facilities that NAVFAC Hawaii has executed at JBPHH Wahiawa Annex over the past few years. The others are NCTAMS PAC, ITCS Daniel R. Healy Communications Center, and the Hawaii Regional Security Operations Center (HRSOC).

U.S. Pacific Fleet, JBPHH

The world’s largest fleet command, the U.S. Pacific Fleet encompasses 100 million square miles, nearly half the Earth’s surface, from Antarctica to the Arctic circle and from the West Coast of the United States into the Indian Ocean. The U.S. Pacific Fleet consists of approximately 200 ships/submarines, nearly 1,100 aircraft, and more than 130,000 Sailors and civilians.

Adm. John Acquilino is the current commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet. He is the 36th Navy officer to command the Pacific Fleet since it was established in February 1941 with headquarters at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Past commanders of the Pacific Fleet include such naval giants as Fleet Admiral Chester Nimitz and Admiral Raymond Spruance.

The Navy took over operations of Hickam from the Air Force in 2012 so all housing and base command is Navy sponsored. Base housing office, Pearl Harbor, is located at 4825 Bougainville Dr., Bldg 2652, Honolulu, HI 96818. Around the corner from the Pearl Harbor NEX and Commissary.

Registration and getting on the wait list

HEAT (Housing Early Assistance Tool) registration for base housing. The Navy Housing office then makes the determination of the priority of the waitlist. But you need to be registered in order to be considered. 

• If you want to live off base or buy a home you must also register with HEAT as well.

Navy Housing in Pearl Harbor and Ford Island

Moanalua Terrace is a nice community that has a dog park and lots of kid areas. Also it is located 5 min from the NEX, commissary and Navy Marine golf course. There's no commute to work and there's a lovely Navy golf course is across the street!
